January 7, 2015 Update: We're Moving!

Calling all packing and moving help!

In preparation for moving into our New Home, we need to sort through, pack up, and move any items we currently have in the Old Stone, administrator's office and the Cottage. Here are the tasks we need your help with:

  •     Gathering and organizing the packing supplies, such as clean sturdy boxes, tape, other packing supplies
  •     Sorting and packing our contents from the Old Stone closet, the Cottage, and our office space at Trinity Episcopal. Each of these areas may be packed up on separate days, to be determined by leaders in charge of those contents.
  •     On moving *out* day for each area, bring your hand truck and/or strong body to help move the boxes and minor furniture items.

Moving *in* specifics are being planned, with more information to follow in future ACE and website updates. Stay tuned for more information!

If you can help on any of these, contact Judy Paulsmeyer at 541-728-0050 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please let Judy know if you'd like to help with a certain area for packing, such as the Cottage, so she can connect you with the leader for that area.

December 4, 2014 Update: All Congregational Tour on Sunday, December 14!

Sunday, December 14, 1:00 pm, at our New Home

You are invited to see the progress at our New Home on December 14. The parking lots are paved, and the driveway is re-scheduled to be paved before then.

Enter from 61980 Skyline Ranch Road, and follow the driveway to the left, around the north side of the building to the two lots on the east side.

Come at 1:00 pm to wander around and through our new home. At 1:30 we will gather in the sanctuary to sing a few songs in celebration of being in our own space. There is a lot to be done between now and the end of January, but you can get a good idea of how the spaces will feel and function.

We will update you next week on whether the entry terrace is poured yet and suitable for wheelchairs. ADA parking is close by and should be ready by then.

The Portland Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) recently announced their annual awards for design excellence. Our new home was selected in the 'unbuilt' category by a prestigious jury of national and international architects. You can see THA Architecture's submission on our website and read what inspired their design for our building -- especially the geology of our site and the principles of Unitarian Universalism.

May 16, 2014 Update: Save the Date:  Tour the New Home Site on June 29 at 1:30 pm

The congregation is invited to visit our new home for a tour and an opportunity to sign a beam which will become an integral part of the structure of the building. We won't ever see it again, unless we're in the crawlspace under the roof, but we'll know that each of us was an essential part of the fabric of our New Home.

April 11, 2013 Update: The Key to Our New Home Success is You!

If you were in attendance at the New Home congregation update last Sunday, you saw the impressive progress that has been made on the schematic design of our new home. Our design team from THA Architecture presented a revised floor plan and siting that is more in alignment with our budget. There are still many decisions to be made as we move into the design development phase of the project.

In the next two weeks we'll have pictures posted that reflect the current phase of the design. Please note that the design will be more defined over the next few months.
