Progress Updates 2014 - June to December

December 4, 2014 Update: All Congregational Tour on Sunday, December 14!

Sunday, December 14, 1:00 pm, at our New Home

You are invited to see the progress at our New Home on December 14. The parking lots are paved, and the driveway is re-scheduled to be paved before then.

Enter from 61980 Skyline Ranch Road, and follow the driveway to the left, around the north side of the building to the two lots on the east side.

Come at 1:00 pm to wander around and through our new home. At 1:30 we will gather in the sanctuary to sing a few songs in celebration of being in our own space. There is a lot to be done between now and the end of January, but you can get a good idea of how the spaces will feel and function.

We will update you next week on whether the entry terrace is poured yet and suitable for wheelchairs. ADA parking is close by and should be ready by then.

October 9, 2014 Update: Save the Date! All Congregational Tour changed to December 14

Details will come later, but save December 14, after the Sunday service, for a visit to our new home. So much has happened since the tour in June. The roof is on and soon the windows will be in, the siding will be completed, and the rooms will have walls. The driveway and parking lots will be paved and ready to use. Our new home will be ready for your viewing at this next stage of construction!

October 3, 2014 Update: Rapid Progress duriing summer - Exterior siding begins!

September brought great changes both inside and out. Driving by, you can see heavy equipment rerouting the bike path along Skyliners and doing off-site work required by the city to improve accessibility and recreational opportunities in the area.

Grading for parking lots, driveways, and curbing for walks has been progressing, so that paving and concrete pours can be completed before winter sets in. Most of the stationery windows are in. The building is covered in rigid insulation, so it looks wrapped in aluminum foil. But siding has just begun. One small area is visible on the north wall of the mechanical room. Stonework on site walls continues to progress, but masons have moved inside to finish the tall wall between the gathering hall and the sanctuary.

Framing is almost complete, with the curved walls separating the sanctuary and gathering spaces just begun. A major step was completion of the roofing. The interior fire protection system installation is nearly done and partially inspected by the City. Rough-in plumbing is complete, and the electrician finished a great portion of the complex wiring for power and lights, but continues to utilize full crews. Delivery of operable windows and the remaining large window is in process.  Many key submittals for interior equipment and finishes have been provided and approved. There are now often over 50 workers on site daily, and things are moving quickly!
