During Rev. Alex Holt’s ministry we started small group ministry/covenant groups, adopted a relational covenant, started a conflict management process, made some complex policy changes, and assisted the leadership team in restructuring our organization to meet the needs of building ownership. At the end of his ministry with us the congregation had over 160 members.
We completed a successful Capital Campaign for finalizing building funding, completed the planning and design phases for the New Home, and broke ground in September 2013.
Many members have been deeply immersed in the New Home Project, sharing a multitude of skills, time and talent. Our new spiritual home will be complete in early January, 2015. We will move into the building in mid-January, 2015 and expect to hold services soon afterward.
In preparation for changes as we occupy our new home, the Board appointed the Advanced Planning Task Force to recommend our future organizational structure. The Board worked with the personnel committee and a UUA Compensation Consultant to determine a plan for future staffing policies, staffing levels, and compensation structure.
As Rev. Alex Holt’s ministry drew to a close, we appointed a Developmental Search Committee. These capable leaders have been working since November of 2013 to identify our next minister. Rev. Antonia Won begins her ministry with UUFCO in September, 2014 and we will begin the next chapter in our congregational history as the year draws to a close.
Our purpose continues to be caring for one another and supporting each other on our spiritual journeys, and providing a sanctuary for all those seeking a liberal religious community in Central Oregon.
