The Adult Spiritual Development program provides spiritual experiences that inspire, transform and sustain our members and friends. Open to everyone, Adult Spiritual Development offerings provide opportunities for people to tell their stories and engage with ethical, moral, and spiritual questions; to encounter worldwide wisdom traditions, including the Unitarian Universalist tradition; and to work within the congregation and the wider world to build communities of justice and love.

Class Offerings

Current and upcoming offerings are listed in the right column. Class information is also available on the UUFCO Calendar, ACE (weekly All Congregation Email), and at the kiosk in the Gathering Hall. Some classes require registration and are fee-based while others are free. Recent classes have included opportunities for exploring what each of the principles of Unitarian Universalism means to us, "Spirit of Life," and “A Long Strange Trip,” exploring 2000 years of Unitarian Universalist History.

facilitated Groups

In addition to class offerings, there are small facilitator-led groups that meet throughout the year. Although these groups are offered without cost, some may require registration, while others encourage drop-ins. These small groups are listed below.

Sunday Morning Meditation: All are welcome to this weekly drop-in Sunday morning meditation at 9 a.m. before the worship service. No experience needed. This group meets in the Founders' Fireside Library, and in good weather often walks to the labyrinth.

Soul Matters: Groups are formed each September and meet monthly through June at various times. Each group of about 10 participants is led by a trained facilitator. Participants receive a Soul Matters theme packet by email at the beginning of every month and meet once a month to share their reflections on questions raised in the readings. The packet is also available to any congregant who wishes to follow the themes on their own. For more information, go to the Soul Matters page.

Men's Groups: These small groups provide an opportunity for men to address life challenges and advance their spiritual journeys within a supportive circle of friends. Groups establish their own operating agreements and meeting times; most meet monthly at members' homes. To foster bonding and ensure intimate conversation, each group caps its membership, usually at five or six. Meetings are closed, and discussions are confidential. The Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism inform and underpin group interactions. Relationships are covenantal. Orientation sessions are held periodically for men who are interested in starting a group or joining a group with an opening. Check the kiosk in the Gathering Hall for contacts and announcements.
